They work as an interface between electronic components of hard drive and magnetic media. Heads convert data (stored in the form of bits) to magnetic pluses when writing to drive and reverse the procedure while reading data from the drive. These heads are the most fragile and sensitive components of modern hard drives.
• Spindle Motor- The spindle motor plays a significant role in reading and writing the hard drive by spinning the platters at very high speed. It gives stable, reliable, and consistent power for several hours of uninterrupted use.
• Circuit Board- This is also known as PCB (Printed Circuit Board) or logic board. The hard drive has an intelligent logic board with hard drive unit. The circuit board forms the base of the hard drive casing, and is visible on the outer side. Hard drive read/write heads are interlinked with circuit board via flexible ribbon cable.
